First Fibre laser under sub contract in UK

Micrometric have invested in the latest laser technology for the manufacture of small precision components. The new machine is a 100 Watt SPI Fibre laser. It is ideally suited for cutting and welding applications in materials with flat and tubular sections typically between 0.1 and 0.5mm thick. The business sectors most likely to benefit from these advances in laser technology are scientific, instrumentation, medical and electronics. The picture shows a 50 micron lap weld in stainless steel.
