PRECISION COMPONENT MACHINING
Wire EDM - CNC machining – Laser cutting
|
Micrometric manufacture precision components
using Wire EDM, conventional CNC and laser. These processes can be
combined where necessary to provide cost-effective and novel solutions
to technically difficult manufacturing problems. Wire EDM Low volume, very tight tolerance (down to ± 4µm) components are produced quickly and efficiently on state of the art equipment. CNC machining The CNC machining centre is extremely versatile and flexible. It has a 500mm cube capacity and incorporates a touch-measuring probe for fast and accurate set-ups. Combined Processes Drilling, tapping, milling and counter-bore features required on many parts can be carried out prior to laser cutting the profile to any shape. Profiles that only require selected areas to have tight tolerances and/or high levels of surface finish can be produced by wire EDM, with the remaining profile being achieved by laser. | |

The gear profile component shown is produced by a combination of Wire EDM and laser. The gear profile is cut by Wire EDM, a relatively expensive process, and the rest of the part by laser, a relatively cheap process. |

The small T shaped components shown, which include an M2.5 tapped hole, are produced by a combination of conventional CNC machining and laser. The plate shown is machined to thickness, then the holes drilled and tapped in an array. The plate is then jig located and the outside profiles machined by laser. |
