Fine laser machining including cutting, welding and marking - European leaders - Micrometric Techinques Limited
Founded in 1982, Micrometric is a European leader in the use of lasers for the production of precision components. One of the first in the field and now with the capacity of eleven laser stations, the company has accumulated over 300,000 hours of laser experience
The management team has a strong scientific and engineering base, well qualified to specilise in the technically difficult area of fine part production for industries such as electronics and aerospace. This expertise is also applied with considerable advantage to general commercial work.
A policy of continuous investment in state-of-the-art laser equipment, multi-axis Nd:YAG and CO2 lasers has created a £3 million facility, giving the company a leading edge over competitors.
A broard range of high peak power Nd:YAG and high power CW/pulsed CO2 lasers provide Micrometric with a unique combination of equipment, capable of machining a diverse range of materials and sections not possible with more conventional equipment.
Rotary / Multi-axis and high resolution controls coupled with lasers ranging from 5kw peak power Nd:YAG to 2800w CO2 offer an extensive capacity range for the production of watch components through to tractor parts.
The lasers are also used to part mask and weld finish machined components. A controlled atmosphere glove box is used when hermetic sealing of components is required.
CAD/CAM on Agie Mechanic and ECS Hewlett Packard systems allow any complexity of part to be rapidly programmed or revised via drawing or sketch. Information can also be received on disc or via modem link using DXF of IGES formats.
Micrometric's considerable experience in laser production methods provides a well engineered servies from prototype to complete production.
The activities are supported by EDM wire erosion and conventional CNC machining facilities. Available on a sub contract basis.
